March 29th, 7:00-9:00 pm
Every year the World Wildlife Fund organizes a movement across the world to get people to turn off their lights for one hour. This is a conscious action to limit energy consumption, fight climate change, and show respect for the environment. This year's Earth Hour is scheduled for March 31st at 8:30 pm. Join us at Swaner on Thursday, March 29th to celebrate Earth Hour early.
This event is free and open to all ages. Come and go as you please, you don't need to stay for the whole two hours.
The schedule of activities is below:
7:00-7:30 pm - Activities in the EcoCenter: face painting with glow in the dark paint, hands-on lessons on climate change and energy conservation, luminary making.
7:30-8:30 pm - The lights go out at Swaner! Join us for stargazing, green building tours in the dark and other fun activties.
8:30-9:00 pm - Warm up with cookies and hot chocolate and learn ways you can celebrate Earth Hour at home with your family on the 31st.
