    Spring Break Camps

    Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter is excited to bring back Spring Break Camp by popular demand from kids and parents! Campers can register for individual days of camp, or the whole week, to ensure an exciting and educational week off from school!

    Spring Break Camp is open to youth currently enrolled in 1st through 5th grades. Camp begins each morning at 9 am and ends at 4 pm (drop off is allowed at 8:45 am. No late pick up available). Two snacks will be provided (one in the morning and one in the afternoon), but campers should bring their own lunch and reusable water bottle each day!


    April 9
    Animal Architects: :  Animals are amazing architects!  Explore nature’s best engineers to learn more about how they construct their homes and to gain a few tips to use on your own projects.  Campers will test their own design skills, explore outside for signs of animal architecture, create beautiful art in this fun day-long session!
    April 10
    Science Gone Wild:  Learn about animals, plants and everything in between! Have all your wildest questions answered as we use scientific tools to explore animals and their environment. 
    April 11
    Harry Potter and the Sandhill Secrets: Prepare for all your favorite Hogwarts classes, including Care of Magical Creatures, Potions, and Herbology!  Campers will be sorted into a House.  Whether you’re a lover of Harry Potter or have never read this series, this camp is sure to be full of adventure, surprises, and magical fun!
    April 12
    Take Action!: Discover the power and fun of helping others!  This session is filled with special service projects that help our local area.  Each exciting project will transform you into a protector of animals, wilderness and community.  Prepare for fun games, crafts, and activities that help to make the world a better place.
    April 13
    Senses and Defenses: Ever wondered why skunks use stinky spray but it doesn’t bother them or how bats can see at night?  Learn about how animals have adapted to survive in their habitat in this session!  Get ready for up close encounters with animals, fun games, crafts and more!

    The cost of each camp is $60 per day. This fee helps to cover the cost of supplies for activities, any special guest visitors, our staff’s time planning and facilitating camp, snacks, facility expenses, and more.

    Swaner Family Level Members
    Family members of Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter receive a 10% discount on camp registration fees.  When selecting your tickets in EventBrite, enter the promotional code familymember. You must have a family level membership or be a current member of the Sandhill Society in order to qualify for the Swaner member discount. If you do not have a family membership or your membership is expired, your registration will be cancelled.

    Please note:  Family membership discount applies only to individuals who have membership in their name, and related children 18 and under.  You may not register friends, neighbors, etc. using your family membership discount. Swaner Family-level membership must be purchased by February 15th in order to receive the early camp registration access via email.  If purchased after February 15th, please contact Katherine Veeder, Education Direction, or the Swaner main line to receive the access code.  No guarantees are made for early registration access if your Family membership was purchased after February 15th, due to delay in processing times.  Please take this into account when purchasing a membership.  If purchased after February 15th, you will be required to provide proof of purchase.

    If you cancel more than 2 weeks before the day of camp, you will be refunded minus a 25% fee.  If you cancel less than 2 weeks before the day of camp, we will refund you (minus the 25% fee mentioned above) only if we can fill your spot from the waitlist.  If we cannot fill your spot, you will not be refunded. Registrations are non-transferable.
